Assembly Members in the Asutifi South district of the Brong Ahafo region have boycotted the Assembly’s general meeting over what they describe as disrespect on the part of the district chief Executive [DCE].
At a press conference to make their decision know, Leader of the Assembly Members, HON. Yaw Okyere said the DCE on several occasions have insulted the MP for the area, HON. Collins Dauda.
‘’We all know that, Hon. Yaw Dwomoh Mensah was appointed to act on behalf of the government and to initiate development, he said. ‘But every utterances of Dwomoh Mensah is meant to insult the MP,’’ Hon. Okyere added.
Hon. Yaw Okyere further revealed that they expected the DCE to exhibit a unifying attitude that could
Promote peace and development in the district but the DCE is exhibiting otherwise.
He called on the DCE to render apology on all the media platforms he insulted the MP latest by October 15.‘’Untill that is done, we will go for Assembly meeting, register and walk out,’’ he stressed.
