Akufo-Addo has discontinued NDC projects – Mahama

Former President John Dramani Mahama has bemoaned government’s inability to continue all the projects that were handed over to the current administration by the past government.

Mr Mahama said, as he toured the country to campaign for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer race, it was evident that all the projects that were handed over to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been abandoned.

He said: “All the roads we were working on have come to a standstill, all the E-Blocks community day Senior High Schools have come to a standstill, the hospitals and CHPS compounds we were building across the country are at a standstill, and it is the same with the electricity and water projects that we embarked upon to extend power to communities and safe drinking water”.

Mr Mahama said this during an address to hundreds of NDC supporters at Yendi, as part of his campaign tour of the Northern Region.

He urged Ghanaians not to lose hope, as the NDC government that will be formed in 2020, would help ensure the successful completion of all the abandoned projects.

He noted that, Ghanaians are currently going through hardships under the NPP government.

To this end, he promised to make life better for all Ghanaians if he wins the 2020 general elections, adding that it is only when the NDC is in government that Ghanaians will have a good living standard.

Former President Mahama also expressed surprise over the behaviour of the NPP regarding his decision to contest the NDC flagbearer position. He said, very often, one would hear members of the NPP questioning why the NDC would want to bring him back as their flagbearer, as they would easily defeat him.

He said, if it were true that the NPP would easily defeat him in 2020, then they should be rejoicing rather than complaining.

“Two teams are playing football and the other tells the opponent that if you put in a particular goalkeeper I will score you. That means the opponent is afraid of the goalkeeper,” he said.
He noted that the NPP is clearly afraid of his second coming, as they are aware that, he is the only candidate with the experience to win back power for the NDC in 2020.
Mr Mahama has therefore urged delegates of the NDC to massively endorse him when the NDC goes to the polls, to enable him snatch power from the NPP in 2020.
